“In this bottle, there is a cordial made of the juice of the fire-flowers that grow in the mountains of the Sun. If you or any of your friends are hurt, a few drops will restore them.” โ Father Christmas
I find it strangely wondrous how some stories I’ve held dear in my heart when I was a child seemed to contain clues within them; clues that whispered about my soul history and, perhaps, a history that is much beyond my own.
Sometimes we come across things that leave us feeling startled and with hideous tinkles of old secrecy, for they seem tailored to our own soul.
The quote inserted is part of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, when Father Christmas hands Lucy her battle equipment; a dagger and a cordial. Lucy, perhaps as the youngest of the Pevensies, is the only one given a healing tool. A single drop of the fire-flower juice could cure almost any illness or injury and bring people back from the brink of death.
Cordial in its popular sense indicates that an individual is warm, friendly. In its etymology, it means “that which belongs to the heart”, and is also a term given to a liquor used as medicine in times when apothecaries were still a thing!
I write all of this after the realisation of how strongly flower/alchemical essences (recently) came to my life, for my own healing. This has happened before; clues inside stories. Who knows what the future bears…

Cordial – Medicine of the heart.
Juice of fire-flowers – Alchemical plant essences.
Fire-flowers – Spark of life. Fire initiates and ends.
Mountains of the Sun – The gold, glory, and reign, of the soul/Sol.
The Sun rules Leo and the heart centre. The golden child, lionhearted.
